Yesterday we decided to take advantage of Patrick's day off and drive to Puerto Morelos with some friends and have ourselves a beach day. Puerto Morelos is about 20-30 minutes outside Cancun on the way to Playa del Carmen and has some great beaches. It was our first time venturing to the beach there and it was a little crowded, but we had a great time. We are in love with the little town of Puerto Morelos. Made us feel like we were back in St. John. Such a small little quaint beach town....and the same driving distance to school/shopping/etc. as from our current residence on Cancun's Zona Hotelera. (hint, hint Patrick!) Actually Patrick really liked the town too and started calling some numbers on renta/venta signs that he saw. Ahhhh, to live at the beach....Anyway, here are a couple photos from the day.

Starting off the New Year right
We plopped our stuff down at a spot that had a ready-made sand hole. Score! Half of Mama and Daddy's work was done!
Not being one for sunbathing, Patrick recruited Jackson to throw the football around. He's getting pretty good at throwing and catching. Yeah, Jackson is too :)
After a bit our friends wanted to find some shade and a little refreshment.....we walked a little ways and found a sign advertising cerveza fria, margaritas, pina coladas and mojitos....and more importantly, some beach chairs and an umbrella. Must remember in the new year to buy some chairs and an umbrella.
We stayed awhile chatting and sunning ourselves while the kids ran around, but Kaley got sand in her eye and opted to sit with me instead (and for some reason decided to go topless....she fit right in as there were plenty of grown up ladies sans-top)
Before heading off to find some seaside lunch I decided to take a photo of my toes in the sand for all you out there wishing you could be barefoot in the sand right now. Plus I just got a pedicure the other day and my toes still look decent!
Hope you started your New Year off right. I know we certainly did.

Do you have any idea how lucky you are? More snow is expected here tomorrow. Or course, I don't think I'd give up my sledding that easily!
